Mahindra has been updating its entire range for the new BSVI emission norms. With BSVI upgrades, Mahindra has also introduced the Bolero facelift, BSVI Scorpio, and the BS6 XUV500. The company is now ready to introduce the BSVI compliant version of the flagship SUV, the Mahindra Alturas G4.
Mahindra has released a teaser of BS6-compliant Alturas G4 SUV in the Indian market. The new Mahindra Alturas G4 BS6 SUV is scheduled to go on sale in India in the coming weeks, after being spotted testing on multiple occasions in the country.
The new Mahindra Alturas G4 BS6 will carry forward all the features and equipment from its previous model. The full-size SUV offering from the Indian brand comes loaded with a host of premium and luxury features, making it an extremely attractive offering in the segment.
Some of these features include a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically-adjustable front seats, powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, multi-function steering wheel, and plush leather upholstery’ among a host of others.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that is capable of producing 181PS of power and 420Nm of torque. The BSVI model is likely to receive the same engine paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, which is sourced from Mercedes-Benz.
For people not in the know, the Alturas G4 is the re-badged version of the global SsangYong G4Rexton. The Rexton also gets the same engine, but with a higher 187PS of power.
The 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 BS6 will receive newly styled dual-tone alloy wheels. There will be no major changes on the design front of the new model; except for the few minor tweaks. The SUV could receive a bigger grille and revised bumper design similar to the global Rexton G4.
The interior of the 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 is likely to remain the same. It will continue to feature a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, colored MID, ventilated seats, and cruise control.
How much The 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 BS6 will Cost
In terms of safety and security, the 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 will continue to offer 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill start assist, hill descent control, and a 360-degree camera. Likely to be priced around Rs 28 lakh to Rs 31 lakh, the new Alturas will take on the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner.
