Samsung is reportedly prepping many 5G phones to put them in the low and mid-end phone segment in 2021. These phones are the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52, and the Galaxy A32. These phones are expected to seize the gap that is currently left behind and pretty much unoccupied.
However, according to the price tags mentioned in the report, the three phones still lie somewhere in the mid-range segment (between lower mid-range and upper mid-range). While the Galaxy A32 5G is said to be the cheapest among them, it still holds a mid-range price tag.
Now, as per a South Korean publication, there is one more 5G smartphone that Samsung is prepping to launch next year. This is said to be the Galaxy A22 5G that will be put lower than the Galaxy A32 5G phone. The report also claims the Galaxy A22 5G will cost 200,000 won (~$180-$200), which is very low and competitive at the same time. A price tag this much low will automatically put the device in competition with some existing Chinese smartphones from Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo.
The report has not shed light on the specifications. The Galaxy A22 5G will launch in India for under Rs. 15,000. Samsung may launch the phone in India and South-east Asia in the second half of 2021. Also, it may come powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.
This goes pretty in sync with what MediaTek India’s Managing Director said in November. He revealed plans of bringing Dimensity SoC-powered phones in collaboration with their partnered OEMs to India in early 2021. So, we suspect the Galaxy A32 5G, which is positioned just above the rumored Galaxy A22 5G in terms of pricing will also launch in India.
