Xiaomi‘s next-gen Android flagship Mi 11 will reportedly launch on December 29th. This is an allegedly claimed date but the publication seems to be confident about the claim on the basis of the source’s track record.
The report mentions that it is unknown whether the month-end event is for the Mi 11 global launch or China-only release. We have seen Xiaomi go for a local launch first and then make a global announcement later. This can be the case again but as Xiaomi has already announced that Mi 11 will be the world’s first phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, we could also see a worldwide release happen on the same day.
This is in line with a previous report that claimed Mi 11 will be launched sometime towards the end of the year. There is a good chance that what we are hearing in the rumor mill is true but as we say, rumors are rumors at the end of the day. Even if they are correct, it is quite possible Xiaomi might postpone the launch to next month. We would suggest you wait until there is an official announcement or at least a teaser from the company.
The Mi 11 is set to be a direct successor to the Mi 10 series and recently unveiled Mi 10T lineup. Both of these were flagship offerings and attracted a lot of positive feedback from critics and fans alike. While we have not much about the specs and features, we can only expect Xiaomi to release a product that builds upon everything built by predecessors.
