Samsung Galaxy Ultra is getting a 50 MP ultra wide camera with a brighter F/1.9 aperture lens. This is a big step up from the 12 MP ultra wide on the Galaxy S 24 Ultra. It should bring a great improvement. especially for close-up macro shots. S 25 Ultra leaks also mention that while the new 50 MP sensor will be the same size as the 12 MP one in the S 24 Ultra, each pixel will shrink from 1.4µm to 0.7µm.
The Samsung Galaxy S 25 Ultra is loaded with features ¹ ². The phone has a 6.8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 200MP primary camera. The battery life is 5000 mAh with 45W fast charging. It also features Android 15, up to 7 major upgrades, and One UI 7. The phone has 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, no card slot, and 12/16GB RAM. The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (3 nm) with Octa-core (2×4.19 GHz & 6×2.90 GHz) CPU and Adreno 830 (1.25 GHz) GPU. The phone has IP68 dust/water resistance and features a stylus with Bluetooth integration.

Samsung S25 Ultra camera leaks
Samsung S25 Ultra leaks also mention that while the new 50MP sensor will be the same size as the 12MP one in the S24 Ultra, each pixel will shrink from 1.4µm to 0.7µm. Though smartphone cameras have improved in low light, ultrawide lenses still tend to lag behind. This is often due to primary cameras having bigger sensors, wider apertures, and pixel binning. Samsung could fix this with a lower-resolution mode or the larger F/1.9 aperture, which would capture 34% more light than the S24 Ultra’s F/2.2, improving low-light performance.
This upgrade would bring Samsung’s ultrawide camera closer to Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which jumped from 12MP to 48MP. However, Apple didn’t increase the aperture, keeping it at F/2.2. Despite having new higher-resolution sensors, the iPhones do not yet support 8K video recording.
