Google Stadia, the cloud gaming service has completed one year, and to commemorate the anniversary, the director of games, Jack Buser discusses the past, present, and future of the platform with MobileSyrup in an interview.
This is a long interview where Buser shares how Stadia is different and why working on this platform interests him more. He also shared how COVID-19 has impacted the Stadia and how the company is now propelling.

As shared by Buser, Google stadia is preparing to add 400 new games to its Stadia cloud gaming service. He said currently 200 developers building 400 games for Stadia. These new games will launch over the next few years, so don’t expect all of them to flood in the next year only.
Buser said, “Frankly speaking, my team is almost done with 2021. We’re thinking about 2022 right now – that’s our focus. 2023 is really kind of where we’re aiming our sights.”
Also, upon asking about what more unique Stadia exclusive experiences can we expect from them. Buser replied the company has hit 15 exclusives already. He said, “we’ve got some incredible stuff in development. I see not just the stuff launching next year, but two years from now.”
Buser reiterated that the company has not only the internal studios but also Harmonix and Supermassive and Uppercut partnerships. He referred to the success of Google Stadia’s first exclusive Orcs Must Die! 3 and said the game really speaks “how our exclusive games from Stadia Games and Entertainment are going to take advantage of what our platform can uniquely do.”
