Mercedes-Benz India has a whole line up of cars that it has to launch this year and it just can’t wait for the lockdown to be lifted. So, it went in for a virtual launch of two of its flagship cars – the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R priced at Rs 2.48 crore (ex-showroom) and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe priced at Rs 1.33 crore (ex-showroom).
Both these cars are two-door, performance machines. The C63 has coupe styling, while the GT R builds further on the flagship sportscar styling of the brand. There are just minor styling differences between the earlier model and the new one, but there are quite a few performance enhancements.
Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R gets many updated features if compared to its previous version. The updated look includes the new alloy wheels, Blue Magno paint job, new LED signature inside the headlamps, updated LED tail lamps, and diffuser design also changed a bit.
Inside, the new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R gets the updated steering wheel, Black Nappa leather upholstery and Track pace data logger. There is an integrated controller for the driving modes below the steering wheel.
It gets a total of six driving modes – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual. Apart from this, it gets digital 12.3-inch instrumental console and a 10.25-inch multimedia screen for connected features.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engines which produce the output of 584bhp of power and 700Nm of torque and mated with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Mercedes-Benz AMG C63
The 2020 Mercedes Benz AMG C63 comes with an updated design language and gets a new Panamericana grille, rehashed LED headlamps, LED taillights, spoiler, blacked-out diffuser bumper, quad exhaust, flared fenders and larger air intakes.
As far as tyres are concerned, it gets 19 inches and 20- inch blacked out alloys at front and rear respectively which further enhances its looks.
Coming to the interiors, the new 2020 Mercedes Benz AMG C63 is equipped with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, carbon fibre inserts, flat-bottom steering to name a few.
The updated AMG 63 also gets bucket seats and interior of the vehicle also changed a lot. It offers six driving modes- Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, Race, and Individual for different terrains.
In the Performance part, the updated C63 coupe gets its power from 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine which produces 469bhp of power and 650Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
