Google Pixel 4a may go on sale on May 22. But so far Google has not made it official for whatever reason. Recently, Apple has introduced its mid-range contender for this year – the new iPhone SE – so now all eyes are on Google for the moment when it will decide to finally make its move.
As per the new report, Google Pixel 4a will reportedly be available for purchase starting May 22 in Germany. While the report does not clarify if the launch will be held on the same day, or before, the news about the sale date does give a decent idea about the phone’s release.
It will also be interesting to see if this serves as the global launch date for the device or just Germany.
Google Pixel 4a Specifications
Google Pixel 4a could be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone is likely to feature a 5.81-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz.
To keep the phone running, Google is tipped to equip the Pixel 4a with a 3,080mAh battery with support for 18W USB Type-C fast charging. However, the phone will miss out on wireless charging.
The Google Pixel 4a could be priced at €399 in the Eurozone, which would be slightly less than the iPhone SE. In the US it’s widely expected that the two would start at the same $399 price.
